For The Person Filled With Insecurity
The world likes to put a lot of pressure on you to conform to a certain image.
That “world” is led by the devil. All the evil influences and sin that ever exists within it, is because of him. He is to be found at the root of all anxiety and insecurity. God who created you, in His perfect will, did not design for you to be of this mind.
Without the Lord and his saving grace, you are nothing. You are a failure. You are nothing apart from Him. Deep down everyone is conscious of the God-shaped hole inside of them and knows they need a Savior. If you don’t have Jesus and don’t put complete trust in Him, of course you will be insecure! Even when you are saved and have God’s Holy Spirit within you, the devil will still be constantly trying to destroy you in any way that he can. One of the devil’s main weapons against you is discouragement. If he can’t make you sin directly, he will try to provoke you through discouragement or discontentment. He will try whatever he can to get your eyes off of the Lord and onto yourself. He will try to make you believe that you are ugly, unwanted, unloved, and uncalled. There will always be a war of some kind waging within you. However, in Jesus, you have the power to withstand anything the devil throws against you.
Isaiah 54:17
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
A perfect God created YOU just how he wanted you to be, all to give glory to himself! He says you are fearfully and wonderfully made. Not only did He design every aspect of your body, and right now knows how many hairs are on your head, but He also wrote an inconceivable plan for your life. He didn’t want to make you a robot, to be 100% controlled and not able to make any decisions yourself. What glory would that give him? He chose to make you in His own image so out of love for Him you could choose to follow and worship Him. God has already created and designed you. He has given you all the power to follow whatever special plans he has for you in your life. You are not missing or lacking in anything, except for one thing; a choice. A choice to completely trust in Him, and let your life be all he desires for it to be for the purpose of giving Him glory. A choice to look to Him for direction in how to dress, act, speak and live. A choice to serve God or to serve yourself. When you choose to serve yourself and follow your own sinful desires, you are putting yourself over God, and thinking you are better than God. Is not that how the devil became the devil? He was the highest most beautiful creation God ever made, but he wasn’t content serving God and he wanted to exalt himself to be like the Most High God.
In closing, the devil is the author of the lies, confusion, and constant turmoil within you! He aims to get your eyes off of Jesus and on your weakness, then instead of walking on the water, you begin to sink. God desires for you to look to Him for everything, for your identity and meaning, for your strength and healing, for blessing, for peace, and unspeakable joy.
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
